A NEW BLESSING

It's blogging time! A new blessing is due to arrive on 10-10-11!
The off season....HURRAY!!!!
Well, this pregnancy hasn't been without it's challenges thus far. It just goes to show you how delicate life really is. Thankfully, the baby is growing well and I am 8 weeks and 1 day today! I saw the heartbeat and it is going strong. I am hoping that physically I will start feeling much better soon.
Time to document the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have a bruised placenta (there is really no other word to make that sound better...sorry about that one). Dr. Rupe stated that I should be officially out of the danger zone once I get past 12 weeks. So no exercise, no Stogey walks, and no picking up Iris without absolute neccessity=No fun! In addition, I have been suffering from some major nausea, etc that has caused me to reinjure the buldging disc in my neck. Ugh, not a fun first trimester. However, I will do anything to give this little person the best start in life. Hopefully, the next couple of trimesters will be much more peaceful. Please keep us in your prayers.
I have to go on to thank my wonderful parents for being there for us in every way!!! Iris has had an absolute blast spending the night with Gammy and Poppy while I have been down in the dumps. She gets really upset to see Mommy sick. It has been such a relief that she has not had to endure much of it as they have been so wonderful to keep her for me. I miss her terribly when I'm away, but it sure has been nice being able to focus on getting better and keeping her little sibling safe.
Iris is super excited about having a baby. She tells me all the time what she is going to teach the baby and the toys she will share with the little one. She sure is adamant that she is having a "little bruda." I told her that we can't make any promises, but I sure can't wait to find out what we are having!
I will keep everyone posted. Peace and Love!

What can you do?

One of Iris' favorite, out of the blue, sayings while we are out shopping in a quiet store is...."Mommy tooted!!!" Then, she looks around for reaction. Of course, people are trying not to laugh as if I actually did, in fact, toot. She thinks she is soo funny.

2 year update...

Iris' 2 year update: She is 37 inches tall and 30 lbs in weight. She is in the 99th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. If she keeps this up she will be 5'10" or 6'2" as the equations are not that accurate. The Dr. called her Gargantuan. LOL!!!

Iris is talking ALL the time...

Today I was changing Iris to leave Gigi's after a LOOOONG day of swimming when she stuck her finger in her ear and said, "Mommy (with a very serious look), I have pool in my ear."

The Jailbird broke free!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...so it's official, at 20 months of age, Iris can break out of her crib. I put her to bed and all was good. I went in later to check on her and her legs were hanging out of the crib rails. Thus, I put them back in. At that point, she was furious. I told her it was nigh, nigh time and walked out. I arrived downstairs to check the monitor when I saw one leg up on the rail. This is not uncommon. Sooo.... I walked back upstairs at normal speed to find Iris walking down the hall binky in mouth and dragging her blankie!!! She was VERY happy with herself. It is an image that I will never forget. I was both scared for her and suprised at her ability. I was checking her bones to make sure nothing was broken when she shoved my hand away while saying, "play, play." She left me in the dust and ran to the rec room to get on her pony. Unbelivable!
